Amish made solid wood furniture is built to last a lifetime but it does require some upkeep and maintenance. One of the best ways to preserve your investment so it will be passed on through the generations of your family is lemon oil.
This video is a quick how to on the proper way to apply it. We use a table for demonstration purposes so it applies to any flat surface. If you want to treat the sides & vertical surfaces of your furniture (and you should) the process is just as simple. All you have to do is apply the lemon oil to a soft cloth like a cotton diaper, old t-shirt or what we prefer an old sweatshirt. Then wipe down the furniture making sure it has a heavy coat on it. Let the oil sit for about 10 to 20 minutes and then wipe off the excess with a dry rag. It's really simple and should be done once every 4 to 6 weeks for the best results.

  • Truly useful information. I'm surprised how few videos there are on this seemingly basic subject. Thanks for posting. Some of us are not born with the knack or knowledge on how to properly polish our valuable natural wood surfaces.
