My names is sammy hehehehehehehe I just got a tarantula but see im afraid to hold it... Im terrified what do I do

@tarantulaguy1976 I bet in the wild if not killed by tribespeople or predators they would live 20+ years
its hard for us to imitate the humidity & food source and location of there wild habitat,.
if we could copy there wild habitat 1/ for 1 . it would be very costly but they would probably be free of molting problems.. unfortunatly im not experienced with T blondies. Maybe Rick West or someone might know.
8-12 yrs seems short . SAlmon pink birdeaters live longer I think. less molting issues

I have full respect for what you do and I love watching you do it. It looks like a TON of work!
Just don't ask ME to do it. LOL

That's weird about the eggs coming out a little during the molt. I would've thought they'd be gone. I have ALOT to learn about T's - I'm used to ordinary true spiders.....
do goliath birdeaters have a rather Short life span vs other Ts??

is it bad to have a big but on a t
sunsetreptiles 2 years ago
I can be...it can increase the fall hazard and possibly make the abdomen weaker.

i heard or read thats its bad to have a big butt on a T. what i read it says that your over feeding them if they have a big but is that true.

Unless they are gravid, it's bad to have a very large abdomen on a T...it means they are overfed. Generally the abdomen should be about as big or just larger than the carapace.
