Johnny Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, was a poineer in the planting of apple orchards and trees in the mid-west, but it all started here in Leominster, Massachusetts, back in the aughts of the 1800's.
As best to anyone's knowledge, this was the site of his boyhood home, which also proves that he was a real person. Folklore and Disney shorts made Johnny to be as if he was fictional, but this video proves he was indeed real.
This site changed in 30 years. There was just a marker surrounded by a chain link fence when I was a kid, 30 years later, the marker is still there, there is also a small walking path to a sign about Johnny's history, as well as a smaller-scale model of what his home might have looked like.
Another American History lesson! Enjoy!

  • I thought so too, but it's kind of sad that the way he portrayed, especially in the 1948 Disney movie about him, that he was a fictional folklor character, which is not true, so here's a video about him, and where he grew up, before heading west, starting other apple orchards along the way.

  • very interesting man! Great video
