Saw Opeth in Worcester. I thought a riot was going to break out when they did a three song mini set with acoustics in the middle of the show. Good review by metal voice.

opeth were always good in broken pieces. i would often like the first half of a song and end up hating the song for the other half. i feel like this album is better and more structured

Mike Mangini rules. His work with Annihilator is just godly. Any band who can have him play for them should feel lucky.

I would say Opeth would be more like progressive death metal, although lately (specially with Heritage) they've been moving more towards "just" progressive metal...

Personally I loved Opeths new album but then again i am a massive fan of 70s prog and really not a Death metal fan but ive heard some off there Death metal stuff tis very original very well done with all the dynamics ect ect , but what ive heard of other reveiws (also a video of a reveiw of the album from opeth them selfs) alot off people like it but then again alot off traditional opeth fans seems to hate it kinda like marmite i guess
