SAANICH - Police are investigating at Mount Doug and at Claremont High after staff learned a photograph of a naked underage teen was being shared electronically.

Tonight police are warning anyone with the image to delete it immediately and they want parents to be aware of what their children have on their computers and cell phones.

"It was found that the photograph itself and the content did not specifically meet the criteria for the sharing of child pornography", says Saanich Police Sergeant Dean Jantzen "But there are significant concerns".

So concerned, a number of students were questioned by police and school staff.

School officials and police say this incident reinforces the need for parents to be aware of how their children using electronic devices.

Saanich police say no charges have been forwarded relating to the sharing of the images. But they warn if others teens are thinking of sharing similar pictures -- they should think again. They say there is no such thing as safe sexting.
