This is a clip from the 1964 Studebaker Promotional Dealer Film, "Different by Design". This is the segment on Fleet vehicles, Police Cars and Taxis. Please note the repeated references to the name "Lark" Although these cars didn't wear a badge with the name "Lark", the did indeed sport a Lark bird Logo. Most promotional material refers to these cars as "Larks". This was filmed at the Studebaker Proving Grounds

  • Always appreciate comments but I own a Studebaker like the film and also own a Trabbi. I honestly don't know how you can look at the two and think they look the same? The Studebaker looks like a Falcon or Nova or Valiant of the same vintage, but a Trabbi?????? not even close in any way shape or form.

  • @OsbornTramain I'm with you- I don't see any resemblance to the Trabbi either.

  • I'm surprised that Studebaker went to such pains to call their fleet package vehicles Larks, especially after reintroducing other model names. It seems overly complex, and I doubt it fooled many people.

  • The Studebaker looks like an East German Trabant...
