Chris Plante Calls Out CNN's Ideology In Departure Of Lou Dobbs

On "Reliable Sources," The Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik, Eric Deggans of the St. Petersburg Times, and WMAL radio host Chris Plante comment on the abrupt departure of CNN host Lou Dobbs.

"In terms of the CNN brand, Dobbs was a disaster," Zurawik said, citing Dobbs' stance on the "birther" issue as an example. He also refers to Dobbs as a "hot dog, gas-based pop-off guy."

"It became obvious that Lou was pressing this world view that illegal immigration was being at the root of a ton of evils in America," Deggans said, also alleging that Dobbs "[made] assertions that are not true."

While Plante suggests that Dobbs' ideology did not fit in with the "lean" of other CNN hosts, such as Anderson Cooper and Campbell Brown. "That's why he's gone," he argues. "This is essentially an attack on Lou Dobbs."

CNN is kidding themselves if they think their other hosts are "neutral". They are clearly "soft left". CNN will not attract viewers by cutting Dobbs. They lost me, and will no doubt lose many others.
