The noise is the reverse thrust to help the aircraft slow down.
The pilots have to exit the runway and go onto a certain taxiway. If the taxiway is closer near the landing point on the side of the runway, pilots will slow down much quicker. If it is farther away, pilots will take their time slowing down.

I' m a ramper at KHSV for American and its usually a 1h 30 min flight from Huntsville to Dallas
