Lianne Hassen, while performing at the Denver Pet Expo for the weekend, decided to compete 'Tank', her black Labrador Retriever, in a Dock Dogs Competition that was going on during the Pet Expo.

The first wave that Lianne and 'Tank' (AKA TEAM SUPER TANK) entered moved them right up to the Senior Division as 'Tank' jumped further than Novice and Junior Levels. With a distance of 18.4 feet, they earned first place.

Here are the jump distance and division breakdowns:

Divisions / Titles Jump Distance Range
Novice 0'1" -- 9' 11"
Junior 10'0" -- 14' 11"
Senior 15'0" -- 19' 11"
Master 20'0" -- 22' 11"
Elite 23'0" ----24'11"
Super Elite 25' and above

TEAM SUPER TANK jumped their way into the Semi Pro Finals, which was very exciting for first time competitors!!! The Semi Pro Finals is comprised of the top 8 Teams
(or up to the top 8) with a Top Score between 18'0" and 21'11" from the Open Waves within that event. TEAM SUPER TANK jumped a distance of 19.1 feet in the finals which earned them second place.

  • I am sorry to tell you but Labs do not dominate this sports. Chessie do.

  • @bennyd34 I think you need to go to dockdogsdotcom and look at the ranking for the top dogs in the world in any of the competitions, and look at the breeds.

  • my dog should do this!!! he loves water and chasing after toys

  • I have noticed, at least in most dock jumps I've seen, the GSP vs Lab are always in competition and both always do well; I guess its a rivarly between the two :D (go GSP!)

  • I have a 12.5 year old Golden Retriever who used to swim and dive so much. I may get a Lab one day - great job. Labs dominate this sport to the point others shouldn't bother to show.

  • This is brilliant!!

  • Thats awesome good job. I'm working on getting a new puppy right now to do this with next year.
