Hmmmm. I just don't get this "out" stuff. When you disregard rhythm and pitch what's left? I think for a lot of out players, it is "stream of consciousness" playing. Feels good to just let go, but how can anyone relate to all the squeaks and squaks? Is he making some sort of statement? As a music who has studied and grown for 30+ years, my goal is to play what I'm hearing on the inside. Is LT hearing those sounds he's making? Not dissing him. Just thinkin out loud.
