The Orpheon is actually accessible later in the game.

And I always loved that first area of the game; the incredible level of suspense and build up to the moment of the Parasite Queen's reveal is wonderful. Metroid Prime has the best atmosphere of any game I've ever played.

Yes it is, but you can get the Parasite, Parasite Queen, and Fall of Zebes entries only at the beginning. That's what I meant to say.

I loved this area too. It's like I said in the Valhalla videos: I love the parts that make you think "What happened here?" You know that something mean and powerful killed these guys, and you have a bad feeling that you'll be that something's next target.

Exactly. And especially if you've never played a Metroid before, (Prime was my first), the area has that much more creepiness.

Prime was my first as well.

Prime was also my first. I agree, Orpheon does seem a lot creepier if it's your first time with Metroid.
