Or how about they both received independence from England at the same time and they separated the two countries into a Muslim part and a Hindu part so there would be peace. Neither belongs to the other.
Both raised their own flag as they took down the Union Jack

@shammi005 It is an Indian instrument. When the instrument was created, there was no such thing as Pakistan and It was created and originated in India. Regardless of the fact that there is a Pakistan today, it still originated in India (Bharat). Hence it is an Indian instrument.

@shammi005 Last time I checked, Punjabi people live in present-day India.

I can remember when I lived in India and we were taught to play ektaras at school once... And also I remember the people in the streets trying to sell ektaras to passing people. If the customer did not buy one, the seller would start following him/her until he/she gave in and bought one.

i like how even though its a weird place the comforting sign of pepsi makes it feel like home.
It's not an indian instrument.
Ektara/Toombi is a punjabi folk musical instrument(saaz).
Toombi belongs to both Charda Punjab(in Bharat) & Lehda Punjab(in Pakistan).

Thank you. I was not aware of that. Nevertheless, it is still part Indian.
I'll change the description though.
