Now that I've managed to join the Brotherhood, my first quest is to free Old Hoarse, a pirate that's being held in the local prison. Using my ultra-slick speech skills (AKA random violence) I manage to break in and bust out Old Hoarse without too much problems. As you can see, this is one of parts where the "Role-Playing" aspect of King's Bounty doesn't hold up very well. Your only way of getting into the prison is by murdering the guard, there is no need to get a key to open doors or to free Old Hoarse from his chains and there are no repercussions for completing this quest. The local ruler of the island won't mind at all!

King's Bounty: The Legend is a TBS/RPG hybrid by Russian developer Katauri Interactive. It is partially based on the classic King's Bounty game by Jon Van Caneghem and New World Computing, which was the spiritual predecessor of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. It's effective combination of wacky humour, challenging turn based combat, highly rewarding exploration and cheerful graphics make this game a pure winner. It's one of my favourite games of 2008.
King's Bounty: The Legend is available on GoG for a measly 9,99$ (DRM Free)
