  • he also beat Denis Potvin on that. Isles swept them in 1983. Oilers won 84 4-1.

  • messier's speed was always overshodowed by his leadership and toughness, the guy could really fly....

  • @mrceebees14 I'm not even going to begin to point out the VAST amount of incorrectness in every one of your comments. You are a baffoon.

  • @mrceebees14 You could beat an NHL defenseman? One who's playing along side Denis Potvin in the Stanley Cup Finals? You could do that do him? I have a strange feeling if you could, you wouldn't be commenting on videos on youtube critiquing Hall of Fame hockey players. Also, your hockey (and math) knowledge isn't very high, seeing as how clearly this was a 1 on 2, both defensemen backed in and gave Mess the blueline. Which is what speed does, backs people up, but you probably knew that already.

  • @meghanxreneex33 you're teasing me, right? No such guy as Thomas on the Isles' defense corps, now nor then

  • @jpwjr1199 the defense was potvin ,lane,persson,thomas,morrow,langevin

  • @m14 look, i am starting to feel guilty, here! I was trying to make a point from the start that I remember this stuff from when I was a kid and I wouldn't lead you astray. I was not trying to debate - just clarify. I promise you that although Boutilier, G.Gilbert, and Hallin were technically part of the Championship teams, they hardly played nor had ice X. If P.Boutilier played in any game in 1983 for over 4 minutes, it had to be 1 or 2x late in the year, when Arbour was resting banged up d-men.
