Ripped off: Century Link and Dish Network are trying to steal $204.61 from me by billing me for services I did not use, after a contract ended. They claim I owe them a pro-rated fee for the extra time it took to "Port" my home phone to another provider. The Scam, Lie, and theft is that they are charging me for a delay that was caused when one of their employees arbitrarily reversed my cancellation of services, and they are billing me for the delay. NOT LEGAL.

DISH Network for their part are billing me for an HD upgrade Installation (through Century Link) after canceling my bundled Dish services. They back-billed me on the old canceled contract for a service that was included in the NEW HD For Life Contract I signed with them. HD For Life includes: Free Installation, upgrade HD DVR's and 3 months Free HBO/Showtime are included when you sign a 2 year contract and sign up for auto billing....which I did.

Both of these Scumbags demand payment from me knowing full well that the facts support that I owe them nothing.

  • All I am saying is that they are both huge companies, mistakes are made. There are sooooo many laws and regulations against the phone company and they are watched like hawks. As a tech we personally strive to make sure your experience is great, if we dont, we hear about it! As an employee they treat us great (CTL) and in every meeting we have its not about employees, its about the customer. Those meetings dont stop on the frontline! Not trying to start an argument, just showing a diff. POV.

    Do you think for a moment they wouldn't react to remove my video if I had IN ANY WAY misrepresented the facts. Go kiss butt somewhere else.

    This video is meant to inform and enlighten potential future subscribers of these two Companies and will remain active and visible as long as I choose.

  • @angelablass - Thank for watching my video, and sorry you got caught up in the Dish Network web of deceit. You'd think they would re-configure their Customer Service protocols with the number of unhappy customers, or ex-customers they have. I will forward your unhappiness to those links I've posted on. BTW.....I too like the stylings of Eva Cassidy, as well as Jane Monheit.

  • You want to do public service you could've fed homeless. You know there are ways to get your bill adjusted, you cant take your anger out on the rep who answers the phone. If it wasn't for you being hot headed about the situation and non co-operative im sure you would've gotten a representitive willing to go above and beyond for you. Dont be so close minded you were not the only customer they had nor are they the last company that you will get "screwed" by as you would say.

I'm truly pleased that you have had 20 good years with them. That said, lets agree to disagree. I won't waste any more of your time....Don't waste mine!   • @talcrou - Thanks for your comments. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, however it is unfortunate that you completely missed the point of my Video submission. I posted as a public service, to be a form of awareness to others, including unsophisticated individual like yourself, who may be considering dealing with Dish Network or Century Link. As for not paying the "erroneous bill" - why risk an 800+ credit rating - that is the hold they have on those of us who are fiscally responsible.

  • @talcrou century link pays people to surf the net and respond to videos like this one trying to maintain a public image. if your working for them you are either new or are part of the corrupt thieves den willingly for your weekly paycheck .If more people knew what was going on there you'd have to change your companies name again to keep the stealing going .the man in this video got it right .. lie and steal .. then PR .. then lie and steal .. then more PR ... bet we see your input all over eh ?

  • so dont expect them to fix your problem .. expect them to move past it fast to try to make more sales .. thats the name of the game .. and when you call back over and over and over trying to get anything resolved .. just expect more sales people .. lol .. they have all day everyday just to bullshit you into sending one more check so waste all the time you want calling them .. they are expecting you and there are people that desperately need to make a sale today waiting for your call ..

    have to type link manually .. look up CTL link to Just Glen Post .. look at all the money he pays himself .. see how the company awards him millions a month .. realize the employees just dont want to be fired .Century link fills its call centers with walmart cards and balloons as sales incentives .. pushes sales quotas beyond whats achievable and fires them that don't perform to this standard of thievery .. if you call with a complaint .. its a sales opportunity for them
