@edward0988 This a Rapper Sword Dance. The 'sword' is a flexible metal strip with a wood handle at each end. Still danced regularly, mostly in Northumberland - very tricky, needs a lot of stamina and enough strength to lift another dancer.
Aye...withoot thi miners men women an' laddies goin doon thi Industrial Revolution would never have happened.
