Hey thanks for clicking on my video. My name is Chris and I recently successfully installed the X-Clamp mod fix for my Xbox 360. The video might be a little hard to follow but I decided to make it because the other videos on here were just showing people how they can do it, while mine shows how YOU can do it. Hopefully I help some people out a little. I followed the tutorial on http://www.llamma.com for the X-Clamp fix. I only ordered one set of their washers and when I messed up and accidently drilled the wrong side on the metal case I was forced to improvise. Instead of using 4 screws and those washers for one heatsink, I devided them up between the two because the heatsink for the CPU wasn't tight enough AT ALL without them. So I installed 2 screws in a diagonal direction for the GPU and 2 in a diagonal direction for the CPU and tightened them very tight. So pretty much each heatsink was only attached by two screws.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to post and I will try to reply. No hate comments please! :)

  • What?

The only thing I did wrong was drill the 4 holes a few inches away from where they needed to be.

  • This is one thing I don't understand. I know that you have to make bigger holes in the case. But if your using bigger screws to anchor the heatsink, how are they going to fit into the actual heatsink unit?

  • You know, I don't remember exactly and I had the same question before I got started. It just works though and you will see once you open it up if you follow my steps, trust me :). Haha.

  • dont listen to this - its not true.

you NEED to use nylon washers to enable the board to flex as it cools down, just metal washers will break connections on the board.

  • it woooorked man..been working now for 3 days and with 3 hours today..thank u so much

  • is this perminant?

  • @henrihasalargedong the best kind is artic silver 5,but any is better than that crap MS calls thermal paste.that crap is one of the main causes of the RROD.

  • ARCTIC SILVER 5 is the best thermal paste

  • do i need to use a specific type of thermal paste or is it just any?

  • actually the holes are likely to be coated and not used as earth points as in a pc motherboard why would mounting holes be connected to earth?
