This rendition is a hoot, literally. A fiddlin' version of an Israel song. I'll put the politics and religious intentions aside and say "C'mon over to the Holy Land. There is truly something for everyone."

In 1966, I was 1 of 4 Jews in our high school. The choral director Carmen Renaldi pulls out the music for Hava Nagila. Thanks to Harry Belafonte, it was a hit, and soon a staple at bar mitzvahs & weddings. My classmates were mangling the Hebrew. I whispered to Mr. Renaldi that I was Jewish & could help my classmates pronounce the words correctly. After 10 minutes they had no ear for the "ch". I gave up & told them to stick with "k". It's a song for everybody. And I'm still a Jew.
