I quit playing trombone in my high school band because when I was supposed to be marching around a football field at halftime these guys were playing at a place in Madison Wisconsin called The Factory, only about ten miles from my home. They were back two weeks later, the next time I was supposed to be at a football game. Hendrix was there a few weeks later. I think I made the right decision. Two years later I dropped out of college to become a professional guitarist. I owe it to this album.
If I was on a desert island and I could only have 5 songs at my disposal....this version from PBBB would be one of the 5. I never tire of this song and have always loved Bloomfield's solo on this one. And I had a chance to go see them live in 1967 but didn't go and see them that night with my friends. What was I thinkin'? And they told me they played this that night just before play East West. Geez.............!
I got my first copy of this when it first came out......wore it out and had to get another. Only got to see them one time in 1972 at Winterland in San Francisco.
