In this tutorial we are going to look at how insert effects are used in Record. Insert effects are the kind of effect that you insert in the signal chain from instrument or audio track and to the mixer. Insert effects are typically used when you want to process the whole signal, such as when adding distortion, compression or eq.

  • nothing external indeed and I love that in Reason already. My computer was basically crashing on everything (even iTunes, Safari or weather in the dashboard!) but not Reason. It kept on running, solid as a rock.

  • Record doesn't support VSTs. You can build most FX yourself though.

  • I actually really like this dude's corny / joking style.

  • wow...I just got called out: "for those of you who are awake."

  • So since i have Reason and Pro Tools . Record would be pointless for me to buy . cept i wouldnt have the ID8 instrument . hmmmm

  • No VSTs? Snarky Tone! How _dare_ Propellerhead apply their unique slant to recording audio and build software that is specifically designed for the musician composer? What short sighted baffoon decided that VSTs and having an interface so complex that you need an engineering degree to figure it out and simply recording a track takes 40 clicks and a secret handshake? After 2 decades of learning recording engineering, I can't wait to try this in hopes that, finally, recording is as easy as pie

  • no VST's?? well that's an important thing to know!! thanks for mentioning it!

  • lol...."For those of you who are awake..."

  • Guitar players have been using the same tech since 1960. Keyboard players are the only ones that really NEED to know about the stuff. It's a lot more fun when you do know about it, though.

  • I really don't like the snarky tone the narrator takes, assuming that musicians don't have any interest in the technical aspects behind recording. In this day and age, you kinda HAVE to.

  • I like to try it :-)
