@TheJesuschristsaves Do you not know what you're doing is just plain mysticism repackaged? This was introduced by mystic priest's of the church of Rome...it is nothing more than a pagan practice dressed up to be Christian...it is far from it. Our Bible tells us to be sober minded, to be alert and to be filled with the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus christ.

@TheJesuschristsaves It's through the word of God we get closer to him, Jesus said you will KNOW the truth and the truth will set you free. Listening to men or the Church is not what we are to do, especially when there are people like the Arnotts running around deceiving people. The word of God has all we need to live this Christian life, everything else is foolishness. History shows us that people through their works trying to get closer to God... become heritics and cult leaders. cont.

God says to meditate on His word day and night Psalms 1:2, emptying your mind of thoughts is what new age and yoga does. These practices are not of God. If you want to hear the voice of God, He will speak to you through His word, For His word is a light unto our feet and a lamp unto our path. When you open your spirit and clear your mind how can you be sure this is God's voice you are hearing?

I think the church is just scared because we can go a lot deeper in the relationship with God"While the church keeps us in suspense"feeding us only tid bits, so we haft to depend on them instead of God" How are we supposed to get closer to God if we don't get in his presence"?Shall we just keep on living in a lie, finding truth from man instead of God, when the scriptures that are preached tell us to follow God,Listen to God; But who are we listening too"?

@dryinalaska Your right he called himself God in the flesh those of us that follow and believe in him are called "Christians" but we're really children of God. Many people call themselves Christians but wouldn't know Jesus if he walked up and shook hands with them, it's become a loose term and means little today.

@dprod1 This is the favorite scripture used for this movement but it's the very scripture you should read as not to do it. Be still and know "HE" is God....that means get rid of all your dead works and trust in him. There is nothing a person can do to become closer to God than just believing. We are as close to him as we will ever be just by faith that he did what he said he did. This is what religion is born of...doing something to gain favor or closeness with God. PS is dead works at best!

@dprod1 there is a HUGE difference between being still and focusing that he is god (which by the way is taking it out of context) and "clearing your mind" it is new age and totally wrong. Clearing your mind is also used in hypnosis, which is obviously wrong too. Also in Toronto, I've had a bad experience in which the man praying for me was pushing me from my forehead to try and sway my body so that I would "fall" in order to soak. I like Toronto, but there are a lot of wrong things about it.
