  • what brand and guage strings are you using i like that tone.

  • The strings are Gibson Vintage Reissue 10's...I am also playing through a 1971 Deluxe reverb...check out my "Bad amp demo" video to hear more from the amp...

  • my pinky doesn't strech that far... :(

    o well

  • Watch the video at 2:14. If you notice, my 1st finger is pointing over my shoulder, and not at my face. If you do that and try to stretch more with the 1st finger and not the pinky you might be able to reach better...it will rotate your hand around enough to get the pinky where it needs to go ...when I do lesson #3 I'll probably talk a little bit about making the stretch work....

  • thanks man! :)

  • No problem! I'm glad it helped!

  • @taxisteve929 wow your 50 and you know how to use the internet.. that's amazing

  • Will stay solo for a year or so, and then start paying for lessons. Most fun I've had in years. I loved algebra, and although you dont need to, I do a lot of numeric conversions to strengthen my understanding. A basic understanding of variables gives you a huge head start in learning theory. Might not have dexterity to be great, but will get good as I could, and will know what I'm doing anyway. Thanks again!!!

  • Excellent video. I'm 50 and have played about a month a year for 40 years, but never tried to learn music. Learned from chord diagrams in music books. Now, with several books I flip back and forth between, and great vids like this, I'm finally understanding. Thank you!!

  • Thanks for the post.

  • u can also try e7 a7 b7

  • I just ran across your videos. Watching you build this song was very cool. I learned alot from this series. Lots of info. Thanks.

Do you have any videos of basic jazz theory?

  • a really great explanation ,

    5 stars . thanks

  • this helps a lot for any noobs in guitar, to put it bluntly. i will just state to those noobs. this is one of the most common progressions in rock and roll and it helps to memorize it. i remember i learned E5, A5, and D5 at first and i didn't understand the I, IV, V bullshit, but i eventually got it and it helps to get, such as how in a key, I, IV, V in a progression are major, II, III and VI are minor, and VII is diminished. that helps in writing songs in any major key
