Kanzo Kobayashi wrote "The Narrow road to Oku" is a kind of travelogue describing nature and people living in deep-north part of Japan, together with most seasonable poems. He traveled all journey basically on foot accompanying only one companion named Sora, who also wrote distinguished poems.
