I also remember this when it was on. ECT ran for one series on Channel 4 and, strangely, had no presenter. Metal didn't get much TV time in the UK on the 4 channels available in the 80's! Venom were the highlight along with Madam X. The sound on this video is pretty much how it was broadcast!

You're right about the sound - no "Hi-Fi" video recorder soundtrack in those days either! I also have the Madame X performance somewhere along with others by Lee Aaron, Lords of the New Church, Motorhead and a few others. I'll upload them in a couple of weeks time.
