URGENT - ALWAYS use fire safety

Last Minute Menorah, Homemade Hanukiah for Hanukah - oil or wax

It's as easy as lining up tea lights, candles, glasses or votive/tea candle holders. You can also decorate the tray the monorah rests in with marbles, pebbles or even rock salt. (Having a fire-safe tray will also help keep your tables and surfaces free or and wax/oil that may spill).

ALWAYS follow the safety instructions that come with your candles' packaging
-use proper candle holders (you can buy inexpensive ones at dollar stores, or stores like Walmart) & leave space between the lights.
-make sure the candle holders rest in a fire safe area (away from cloth etc) & on a fire safe, heat resistant surface, like marble or ceramic
-make sure to snuff out the lights (don't blow them out which could send sparks to start a fire or hot wax flying - use an old metal spoon or the bottom or an old glass jar to snuff them out)
-NEVER leave the burning flames unattended

Tea lights/candles are inexpensive and can be bought at most convenient stores, dollar stores, or home and garden stores.

Turn it into an oil menorah by buying floating wicks, or prefilled oil cups for Hanukah. Buy these online or at any Judaica store.

Use your imagination!

  • This was our first year celebrating Hanukah and we did not have a menorah so we used tea lights. Ours looked very similar to this. Love it!

  • @Elyshua

Praise YAHUSHUA! Thanks for your comment! I just watched your video on making oil lamps, you can also use as a menorah what you did there with smaller bottles/jars etc :) or if you can make your own wicks for the little tealight cups, that works too - but a little more messy lol

I just wish that I had said more in the video about fire-safety! Because, as you know, these can get very very hot, especially if they are too close together!

  • thank you so much for this, really helps me out Sister In YAH~~~

I especially liked you sharing about using the cookie sheet underneath I did not think of this so thank you so much~~~Love to you Sister~~~

  • @SeekYahushua
