  • @porgynbess Like your aunt, when I heard the music, I would run in the room to see the cute Sergeant! He was too fine------------great smile.

  • I was about 4 or 5 when this used to air. My aunt's used to go crazy for the guy at the end ( with the speaking part), this ad popped in my head, so I looked it up, just to see if he was really so hot.... lol

  • wow, brings back memories--I used to love this commercial. The black Sgt was so hot!!

  • I was a Junior in high school when this came out and I joined when I was a senior the next year. (DEP) Graduating BCT (D-2-1 Ft Bliss,TX) is a feeling I will never forget. Spent ten years in and dont regret one year of it. "HOOAH!"

  • luv the woodland pattern camo uniform...

  • What a nice first sergeant.

  • This is the Army commercial I remember the most from my childhood. I was about 7 when this started airing. Back then the recruiting commercials were top-notch...great slogan, great music. As for me, though, I was an Air Force brat, so the Army was NOT an option for me. :-) Still, I finished growing up overseas, went to DoDDs, and I work with militiary and VA students TODAY! Once you're in the culture, it's always a part of you.

  • This is when they got the first Woodland Army uniforms! How exciting it must have been back then to get a fresh clean camouflage uniform.

  • These are the army commercials I remember, and they made an impact on me. I still like them looking back and don't care if cynical types ridicule them as corny, etc. I felt there was something inspirational about them.

Hated the more recent "Army of One" slogan, but the "Army Strong" is much better.

  • My 1sg would have been like "why the fuck are you speaking to me, now go police call that parking lot"
