This is a demo called Hero's fountain, which is good for demonstrating both fluid mechanics and conservation of energy.

Comes in two parts, first with uncoloured water, the second with coloured water.

  • you did a great jop but the question is how about if the lower container is being full of water ,, it means stop the system so it is not a continuous process

  • @abobaSSam444 Of course, I still have to obey the laws of conservation of mass and energy.

  • Yes we understand that it goes in a cycle, but it isn't just height difference that's causing this to happen, in that case the water should never have gone above the top.

You are using the surface of the water a piston to push the water higher up (with less force), but you can push the water higher than to begin with.

If you instead of sending it down again captured it in a top bottle, you could prove that energy was 'not' conserved.

Sadly the experiments is always done this way.

  • @Nabo00o Not clear on exactly what you're getting at here, but I can assure you that there is no way to configure the experiment so that energy is not conserved.

  • it would've been much easier to understand if you had some other person moving the camera around, especially when you were explaining where the pipes connected.

  • What are you talking about?

  • Some typos there....

Anyway this is 5 stars for the great explanation!
