i figured it was time to record a drum cover so i chose parabola by tool from the lateralus album. i had an issue syncing at the beginning. most of this is identical to the cd but i added some parts he does live and i added my own little thing at the end too, trying to stay in time with the cymbal crashes and tom rolls! enjoi!

@zrouth tbartels is great. hes just sloppy. he just needs to polish it up. which im sure he has since his videos are old. this video too. i look back and see spots where im like, ya i could have done that part better or in the cover you do an improv fill and then later learn the real fill. covers for me are just a way to keep track of my progress. ive got a video from 2009. now i have some from 2011 and that way i can compare my playing and see what i need to work on. covers are not competitions

@hereinmissoula11 actually tbartels covers i find verrryy sloppy. idk if its his style. obviously hes a great drummer but he doesnt come close to what danny carey is actually playing. if you have the ear for it, you know exactly what im talking about. and adding your own spin on your own cover is a very common thing. i figured youd know that. but anyway. thanks for watching and thx for the comment!

not best cover on you tube by far.. excellent drummer... maybe even better drummer, but tbartles cover (and couple others) far more correct/accurate than your intrepretation... you add too much and don't play other parts...

It's always cool seeing people try tool covers because then we really get to appreciate what a monster Danny Carey truly is. Nice work though. Like other's have said yours is the best cover on the tube. Get a better mic next time though ;)
