Here I talk about how I installed Windows XP on my Acer Aspire One A110 with just a USB Thumb Drive (Kingston DataTraveller 100 1GB). This is aimed at a how-to for anyone in a similar situation.

You have to set your HDD type to IDE.
You can change this by going to the BIOS, on the "Settings" tab and you will have something like AHCI/IDE. Select IDE, save and reboot !
