the twilight movies did it cause i remember seeing the twilight books and then no one cared unless you read the books and even that was under cover but after the movie and people saw it and insant fans. they didn't read the book but they are fans. I like vamper, werewolves and other supernatural things before the craze but now it just seems played out. I still love it but its getting out of hand. come on vampire clothing line! It's too much.

They give Meyers far too much credit. Media was different back then - vamps were big. VERY big. More people chose to READ their fantasy stories than see them on TV. When Meyers sells as much longitudinally as the collected Vampire Chronicles by Anne RIce...well, then we'll talk "revolutionizing a genre'>

Its funny that you say that, because I read the Vampire Diaries Trilogy 17 years ago. Believe me, it is NOT a new story. Just YA section come full circle. Its amazing what they try to pass off as a fresh idea these days.
