Superiors can pack more in and have a better top door system and are faster at picking up bins.
MJ's have much bigger hopper area and can fit 8 cubic meter bins (cardboard) in one go (superiors can't), and are alot easier to clean out, especially when it's wet
I tried out crash box and cannot get the grip on it, instructor and I agreed to just stick with with synchro instead. At the moment Iam working in the security industry, but for the past number of years desired to get my HR ticket, but not going straight into the transport industry as such! Like most industries when you start off as you said don't pay well at start, but now employers favour experience (and quals) etc.
It is difficult to get a job driving ANYTHING without experience.
If you get the oppurtinuty to get to learn a crash box, DO IT, Everybody can drive auto, crash box drivers are harder to find so straight away you have an advantage if looking for work.
I myself first starting driving for a bloke that didn't pay well, & had second class gear, but it gave me the one thing money can't buy, experience.
It takes time to trian a FL driver, many co. will see how you go on other task's first, good luck

Once I get my HR licence Iam considering heading for JJ richards/Wanless. Most trucks are all autos, but a couple in the fleet are crash box.
Any hints, apart from waiting for somebody to die/leave a friend in their will to get the job???
