A lot of the 'self sufficient' people of the Great Depression were pushed off their land and left to starve or work virtually as slaves.

@RobertHartlepool I didn't know this. I know that people in places like Kansas, Oklahoma experienced dust and couldn't grow food (or at least much). I think today many people instead would probably just steal from others if they have no where to go. You can probably imagine other things that people would do to survive, especially if the current laws could not be enforced.

I agree millions of Americans will be eating less in the not so distant future. But I think mass starvation is unlikely as half of us are morbidly obese & could probably go a week or two without a solid meal. DO NOT HOARD FOOD. It is a waste of money, it is selfish, and if there ever is mass starvation, FEMA will come to your door, ration your food for you and redistribute what could have been your rent money to the hungry.

Interesting theory. But if the number of people starving hit that critical mass (45%), I suspect that it would lead to food riots and even a migration of Americans to other countries. I would hope that citizens wouldn't be so passive to allow an artificial famine to be fraudulently enacted. We're not Haiti or Africa. Once people saw their relatives die like that, they wouldn't just lay around and wait to die.

@candlelyte008 Storing food is not a waste of money. Food food prices go up. It's not greedy because there is enough food produced to go around. FEMA will not go door to door just as they did not do that during the great depression. I thank God that when my husband lost his job we had freeze dried food put away. We would have suffered had I not planned for our survival. People like you will be in the streets begging while people who prepared will be sitting down to dinner.

90% armed lol, over population, way to many people in the cities, if anything goes wrong were going to have a mass die off's its a guaranty, war, plague, volcano, meteor, bad weather could do it also.

lol meat goes rancid you would need fresh kills exspecialy if power was down, store lots of A1 Steak sauce it goes good on everything :)

yes the want a die off its to expensive to feed the world, control for there hidden masters the mark for food and gas rations will be comming in my opinion.
