Home with You Continues by Heatherlyn

"Home with You" is a well-loved song and it's one that continues to take shape to tell an on-going story as it travels with me through different parts of the country. It occurs to me everywhere we go that it could be cool to write a verse particular to each stop, but there are only a couple places that have actually inspire brand new verses.

There are three new verses coming out on the "Storydwelling" album in "Home with You Continues". I share one of the new verses here in my presentation of the song in Bethel, AK. You'll hear my introduction of the story we heard from our friend Dustin Cross while we were visiting Seattle.

Dustin, Jason and I sat together for a couple of hours at a coffee shop in Seattle, deeply listening to each others stories and then Dustin welcomed Jason and I to pay a visit to the tent city where our unhoused neighbors were temporarily residing. We hung out, played some songs and talked with the brothers and sisters there. I was so moved by one story that Dustin told us. The 3rd verse in this song isn't THE story that he told. It is inspired by the story he shared. It's also inspired by Dustin's clear distinction between the, often misunderstood, language of being 'homeless' as differentiated from being 'unhoused'.

Oh! Also, you'll see, during this concert, instead of a mosh pit, we had a coloring pit...it was pretty awesome. ;-)
