  • #10 is John Travoltas mom. I'm serious.

  • @plasticvideo No. If anything, it's his sister Ellen. His mother died of cancer in 1978 at the age of 66.

  • Isn't that the same actress on the coffee commercial that said the same line on Airplane? They look like the same actress.

  • @starskylvr Airplane was specifically referencing this ad campaign. Yuban used it throughout the 70's and utilized dozens of actresses for the commercials.

BTW, the actress in Airplane is Lee Bryant and looks *nothing* like the woman in the ad here.

  • David Naughton, who had the 1979 pop hit Makin It, theme to a short lived TV show. He later co-starred on My SIster Sam and played Pyramid as a celeb a few times in the 80s.

  • @zachhoran He also played the lead in "An American Werewolf in London", which is what I know him from.

  • Sooooo, now I get this. In the movie Airplane, a man and his wife order food, and the wife says "(man) never has seconds of coffee". That was a joke on the Yuban ads. I GET IT NOW! Airplane was made in 1980, I always thought it was just a joke, not a REFERENCE!

  • i like the music on the "New Years Rockin' Eve" Commercial Bumpers

  • @plasticvideo It's his older sister Ellen. A lot of people think she's his mom!

  • i was surprised to see richard kline in a commercial! i only remembered him from three's company! and i used to love grape nuts! i had it in summer camp in the sanbernadino mts in 1976! this really brings back great memories.

  • Too bad you don't have the Tickle commerical. That was the first deodorant I ever used. I remember that Dr. Pepper commercial very clearly!

  • What do you call that 70's Rainbow Flip-Logo Style

  • Look how young Regis Philbin looked!

  • @BallisticLife

about your commec: I thought that sounded famililar: "He NEVER orders seconds on coffee" from Airplane joke. :)

  • @starskylvr Now I know where the actress in the movie got that.

  • ALPHA BETA......Thats the moron that ruined Suzanne Somers career on "Threes Company" Yes that was/is her husband!!

  • i remember the store Alpha Beta! i totally forgot about them until i saw this video! wow this really brings back memories! im loving it.

  • No Tickle ad! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

That TV Guide music was used extensively in their ads through the mid 80s.

Enough DRAMA on that Secret ad?

Force Ten reminds me of the Rush song!

I would be more upset over the fact the guy want's more of that other woman's "coffee"! (as you said in your description) So Yuban saves relationships now?
