Lyrics taken from The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. In the book, Katniss sings this to Rue. I always wondered what it would sound like--hence my putting it to music. (If you've already read Hunger Games, skip to the spoiler section.) If you haven't already read Hunger Games--um...go. Now. Go buy it.
Let me put it this way--You know how Twilight's like crack? Well Hunger Games is crack plus respectability. Oh the relief. An addiction we can actually fess up to. (P.S. Obviously I *do* like Twilight because, um, I've got fan videos on my account so...not trying to hate on Twilight.)
The song's not perfect but, such as it is, I hope you like it.

Just a quick comment on how...dark...the melody is. I know that--odds are--the mountain air was more jolly than somber but, I just couldn't imagine Katniss singing some "Drink up me harties yo ho!" jig to a little girl with a spear through her. Hence, a more subdued rendition of Rue's Lullaby.

I'm hoping they can make this movie just as good as the book. A lot of the movies they make aren't as good as the book. The bar is raised pretty high for this one.

@ThimblesAndKisses1 um.. did you read the books? Rue is Katniss' ally in The Games.
ya know this song and burring Rue in flowers is the entire reason Katniss and Peeta won the Games. Otherwise Thresh woulda killed Katniss, and Peeta would of died from blood posining.
