@Aenkelle Ron Paul never said high interest rates are a bad thing. Interest rates are the price of capital - in a free market system the price of capital goes up when savings go down. Ron Paul rails against keeping the interest rates artificially low, as The Fed does most of the time.

@Aenkelle the higher interest rates on treasuries would make it harder for the government to borrow because it costs more to service your debt if your interest payments are higher. its a bad thing from the governments point of view but could be a good thing for savers and people who want a smaller government

higher rates are the market's way of correcting prices that have been intentionally distorted. they are distorted, IN FACT, due to Keynesian policies.
