Extracts from the first performance of the musical written and directed by Sydney Higgins with music by Lamberto Lugli. Performed by THE CAMERINO PLAYERS, it starred Cecilia Raponi, Paolo Lardizzione, Claudio Sagretti, Tiziano Giglio, Francesca di Pastena, Maria Sole Cingolani and Anna Rita Riccioni. The lighting was designed by Nicholas Higgins. It is the story of a rich Italian landowner's daughter who in the late 1940s falls in love with a poor travelling actor. Her father opposes their relationship and, eventually, the young man leaves. In the Second Act, set in the early 1960s, the actor, now a Broadway star, unexpectedly returns to the Italian village and finds some surprising changes.
