This is the answer to the video "Georgios Kastriotis" and "Georgios Kastriotis 2, Greek Medieval Hero" of CaossHellas YouTube user and for all those anti-albanian who dislike our Existence.

A son of John (Gjon) Kastrioti, prince of Emathia (Mat), George was early given as hostage to the Turkish sultan. Converted to Islām and educated at Edirne, Turkey, he was given the name Iskander—after Alexander the Great—and the rank of bey (hence Skanderbeg) by Sultan Murad II. During the defeat of the Turks at Niš (1443), Skanderbeg abandoned the Turkish service and joined his Albanian countrymen against the forces of Islām. He embraced Christianity, reclaimed his family possessions, and in 1444 organized a league of Albanian princes, over which he was appointed commander in chief.

In the period 1444--66 he effectively repulsed 13 Turkish invasions, his successful resistance to the armies of Murad II in 1450 making him a hero throughout the Western world. Through the years he elicited some support from Naples, Venice, and the papacy and was named by Pope Calixtus III captain general of the Holy See. In 1463 he secured an alliance with Venice that helped launch a new offensive against the Turks. Until the end of his life he continued to resist successfully all Turkish invasions. Within a few years of his death, however, his citadel at Krujë had fallen (1478), and Albania passed into several centuries of obscurity under Turkish rule.

  • @eraldb12 They turn anything to Greek? You mean they turn EVERYTHING to Greek.

  • GREEKS ARE RETARDED.. THEY TURN ANYTHING TO GREEK... BUT YET WHO LIKES TO BE GREEK? NOT VERY PEOPLE BUT THOSE WHO LIKE TO TWIST THE HISTORY. GREEKS NOW ARE NOT THE ANCIENT GREEKS THEY ARE MADE UP POPULATION WHO GOT SUPPORT FROM WEST TO CREATE A FAKE SO CALLED "HELLAS" PEOPLE WHEN THE TRUTH IS GREECE IS MADE OF ALBANIANS , TURKS, VLACHS, AND LOT ITHER ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS, THE BELIEF OF GREEKS ARE RELATED TO ANCIENT GREECE IS NOTHIGN BUT A MYTH.........

  • And the flag of Kastrioti was the ethnic war flag of the Byzantine Empire.

Wasn't Albanian or Serbian or Russian was the old symbol of the Eastern Roman Empire later called as Byzantine by the west. And this empire was multinational but in core was greek and christian. The official language was the Latin in first years but then became the Greek because the most of its citizens were greek speaking.

  • And the Komnenos family were an imperial family of the Byzantine Empire and after 1204 created two Greek States the Despotate of Epirus in Balkans and the Empire of Trebizond in the Asia Minor. The symbol of the Epirus was the double head eagle "byzantine" and in Trebizond in Pontos was the one head eagle. The third greek state was the Empire of Nicaea in Asia Minor also by the Laskaris family. Don't you know about these medieval states!!!

  • Mr eagle204 You begin with lies, for example You said about the names and you are saying that the name Georgios is international name because comes from the name of the Saint George that is not correct the name Georgios is Greek and is relative to Georgos "farmer" Geo from Gea = land. soil and Ergon = work, georgos= the land worker = the farmer.

And in greek history always existed the general ethnic Hellen name with the local Epirot Macedonian Cretan etc.

  • In fact, Arvanites, except of Attika and Voiotia there are also and in Peloponnesos and in AitoloAkarnania and in some islands and in others regions of Greece. And it is difficult to say how many they are because all the Greeks people get married among them. From one view , Greeks are all, Arvanites, or Cretes, or Peloponnisians or Makedonians.etc
