HEAR YE HEAR YE! the VG30 is a twin single-overhead cam engine. It has two (2) camshafts- ONE PASSING THRU EACH HEAD.

what made you go with a vg and not a vq?

@drftjim
VQ's are dohc, they made vg30's sohc. It doesn't require moving the firewall.

One question. Why would you put a sr20 in a datsun when you could of payed the amount of money you did for that sr20 and had a 300+ hp 1200 or 1400 original engine? The car would have been so much easier just restoring the engine itself.

@xXNukeMeXx
Sr20 was only $1000 bucks.
Rebuild the 1600 would of been atleast $300
Rebuild Sidedrafts and tune $400 plus since I didn't know much about them at the time.
I wish now that I would of rebuilt the stock motor. It would of been a better learning experience for sure. At the time I was just a beginner gearhead.
