  • How many votes you get?

  • It would appear that David, Brian and Martin clearly don't like this video.

  • George Galloway is no supporter of worker rights. He advocates open border immigration policies which increase competition for jobs. Milton Friedman, economist and capitalist libertarian, was a backer of such moves. It's a neo-liberal economic policy.

  • It's a slow process as I say, but this time it is NL who are being driven away from a party. Believe me they are leaving. So the membership fell, but what was left was pretty solid and most of that was very much the hardcore of the Labour Party. It's all good and will lead to a better & stronger Labour Party commited to social change and democratic socialism, with respect to the acceptance and realities of globalisation.

  • Contd, the recent accusations levelled by the right-wing media of NL being dead, is probably a good sign that the current Labour Leadership is now feeling the pressure of the grass roots of the party, which is affecting and shaping policy changes. It's a slow but steady progress and I strongly believe those left in the party with traditional Labour values and opinions are winning. Labour are on the way to recovery, but it is the commitment work of the 'real' Labour Party who are behind it.

  • Cont'd, whereas Traditional Labour put the party first before the leader, you will find they argue the best case for getting behind the party leader. The other lot are happy to attack the party leader when things suddenly don't go so well for them. I post regularly to the labour Membersnet, on those boars you don't have to look hard to see the left-right divide, but these days NL are more often told straight by the sane majority (and they don't like it).

  • It's very much a grass roots fight to win back our party. I don't advocate splinter groups but the group Save The Labour Party are being reasonably succesful of attracting support withing the party. Brown might seem like Blair in many ways, but what makes NL and the Traditional Labour Party Socialists in the party different is that the first bunch are career politicians who seem to jump and run an the first sign of defeat. NL are generally poltiically inept people straight from University...

  • Your comments have given me some heart:I was delighted when Labour came in in '97, but am horrified with what NL has done to our civil liberties, seeming to view us ALL as criminals with its attempted 42 days, compulsory(yes, wait and see)ID cards and a DNA database that includes totally innocent people. But isn't Brown NL and central to all this? I never liked the tories but this govt's curtailment of our human rights is very frightening: no good will come from it and it will influence how I vote.

  • The Labour Party will recover when the current NL leadership are eventually removed and the left regain control of the party. It's happening at branch level already. Watch the NL rats flee their sinking ship.

  • He's got a point about Labour Membership. I've long been a Labour Party supporter, but Tony Blair's New Labour damaged the party long-term. There is still a left-right divide in the Labour Party, but the left are definitely winning. 'New Labour' are utter cunts with no respect for the history, reasons behind the Labour Party or Trade Unions. I remain a member of the Labour Party, despite those fuckwits. The biggest critics of Brown are NL bastards, they are no better than fucking Tories!
