A RAYCO is clearing sand pines that have over grown the route of the Old King's Road near Palm Coast, FL. The road was built by British Military Engineers using Slave Labor in 1769 during the 20 year period when the British owned the Florida Territory. It was the first road ever built in what became the USA and ran from south Georgia to what is now New Smyrna Beach, FL.

The next step will be grading and leveling and then a layer of "Shell Rock" will be put down to replicate the original road.

When completed, the road will become an interesting and historical part of Flagler County, FL's extensive Trail System for Walking and Biking.
