Audacity did not recognise the type of this file.

If it is uncompressed, try importing it using "import raw". <-- So I do that and all I hear is white noise. Please help!

Thanks! It worked! By the way, the action starts at 3:40 after you've downloaded the latest version of Audacity. I'm using ubuntu and had audacity installed already so the conversion was a synch.

For people having white noise or trouble opening .caf files, go to 'Preferences', 'Library' and download the FFMpeg Library. Once done, you should not have any problems opening caf or m4a files. Like this if it works for you so others can see it.

@iPodTouchTapp You have to go to 'Preferences', then 'Libraries' and download the FFMpeg Library. Once done, restart your Audacity and you can just open caf files instead of importing.

@ekchris8 are u using an older version? be cause you need the latest(most recent) version to download it and then u select the conversion to mp3 and thats it...

guys just download youtube dowloader, it allows you to convert .caf to.mp3 and tons more

found a new solution for the converting, use Free Youtube downloader(newest version) and just choose the file, and just convert it to MP3, i already did it and it works. hope it helps you guys....

ps. the reason you cant do it in audacity is because caf converting its only working for Mac when trying to convert a file to Mp3 . the method im giving you is for windows users (there u go! )
