I watched two seconds of this cause I was trying to find the opening scene, 4th of July fireworks scene - aren't I romantic - and had to hit the power button on the remote faster than a black man through a presidential campaign because I didn't want her thinking I was about to play a comedy. Which this film most certainly is not. Bottom line - You're not , Fincher. Neither am I. So go write a script and fuck wasting your time on you tube. I am taking my own advice here. Good night, you tube.

Fincher couldn't delve into the mind of the killer because he is unknown... Which is why the film focuses on the investigation in trying to figure out who the madman is.

@Magnolia296 yeah, I know what you mean, but overall I don't think it was thrills he was going for here. it isn't really a film about a killer, just as the social network isn't really about facebook, it's about the obsession of this guy who refuses to relent and the drama behind the investigation.

David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. After brilliant Seven, Alien 3, Fight Club and Panic Room I had to watch Zodiac too. It was real challenge cause the story is based on true events. The whole film was good but still not what I'd expect. The atmos[here wasn't as scary/thrilling as it was in The Silence of the Lambs, Copycat, Seven or even The Zodiac (version 2005 with Justin Chambers & Robin Tunney). Anyway Mark Ruffalo showed brilliant acting. Gyllenhaal & Downey Jr. were great too
