This is an inexpensive vacuum exposure unit that I built in 1 day with common stuff from around my shop. I'll answer any questions you might have. Lots of pics at this site... http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.101401933317906.1577.100003443005...

  • The top was about 24" wide and 30" to 32" long. Size is not critical as long as your screen fits, you have enough room to close the lid and remember the hole for the vacuum. The length of the legs is up to you. Make the table a comfortable working height. If you will search through here, you will find a link that takes you to a lot of pics...they have exact dimensions.

  • With the unit I built, using pre-sensitized emulsion, I burn the screen for 2 minutes 15 seconds. Washes out perfectly.

  • If you will look at the Facebook page for DC SignsandGraphics, you will be able to look at the photos.

  • In answer to an earlier question. The glass is about 16 1/2" x 22 1/2" which allows it to burn the entire area of a 20" x 24" screen. The bulbs came from Lampline dot com and they are F20/T12 unfilitered fluroescent tubes. Presensitized emulsion burn time...2 min. 15 sec.

  • I will post a bunch of closeup pics along with a url to look at them tonight or tomorrow. Hope this helps.

  • ok...I took the upholstery brush from the vacuum and trimmed everything off of it leaving only the tube that connects to the hose and a small flat area that I could connect to the bottom of the table. There is a 1" hole cut through the table, what's left of the brush was connected there using silicone and 4 screws. The piece of rope is stapled on both sides of the hole. I stick the other end of it in the screen when I'm burning. This makes an airway for the suction to remove the air.

  • I checked out the link you posted with the images and descriptions. extremely helpful. thanks.

  • how much time do you use to expose with (6) 20 watt? 6" or so distance?

  • I want to build tomorrow, please tell me where you posted close up pics. Also, can you give me a substitute for the bulbs so I can buy at home depot or lowes.
