The Manali to Leh road

This has got be one of the most beautiful journeys in the world, crossing four mountain passes of over 4000m and over the second highest road pass in the world the Manali to Leh route is stupendous in scenery, danger, remoteness and breathtaking scenery. The landscape and vegetation changes with each pass, green turns to desert plains of four thousand metres surrounded by snow peaks of 7000+ before the road climbs to the final pass of Tangala and the descent into Leh.
