@welcometourf last i checked it was immigrants who built that american standard of life.

We Americans are angry at Rossi just like the Turkish are angry at Ozil... Come on they can play for whoever they want. :P
-
U.S.N.T is okay we have heart no special skills but all around decent
-
Rossi is currently the best ITALIAN striker!!

i just saw an interview with him though where he says america is home. but i do understand his motivations to play for italy though. and i guess he feels as much italian as american. though your childhood has a huge emotional impact. i moved from holland to new zealand when i was 10. i lived in nz for 18 years but couldn't care less about their football team. and that's not cos they suck because i also don't care about the rugby team. i only care about ajax and the dutch national team

@antonmigr or for canada because his father is canadian
-
@rjsartor Yea another thing US national team suuuuucks hahaha so i dnt blame him even if he didnt move to italy id rather play for italy then USA so yea man americans are really ignorant
-
@antonmigr Not quite. Donovan was raised by American citizens, spoke English as his first language, and spent his whole life in America. Rossi was raised by Italian immigrants, spoke Italian as his first language, and became the player he is today bc he moved back to Italy at age 12. Half the USNT is dual citizenship already and people still complain. Im American and i think we should develop our own talent instead of stealing other countries players.
-
@rjsartor that's like saying donovan should be playing for some european country because he's white
Im American and i think its absolutely disgraceful to label Rossi a traitor for not playing for the US. Typical american ignorance. Just because you are born on a specific plot of land does 'make' you a nationality, your experiences do. His parents were both Italian teachers at school, so his first language was Italian, and its not like he ever even played on US youth teams. HE MOVED BACK TO ITALY WHEN HE WAS 12!!!! grow up people, hes not american just because he was born here.

Do you know him personally? He might see himself as an American citizen because he is one, but hes an Italian citizen too and will always have 100% Italian blood. Dont tell me America made him into the player he is. Genetics did; his parents did - who are Italian. He would have been a traitor if he played for the US. He first represented the Italy as a 14 year old, there was never a question about playing for US. Half the USNT isnt american as it is so fans need to be happy with what they have
