バレンボイムのピアノが素晴らしいと思います

I think this performance is rather "watered down", especially in the piano part which really has absolutely no color or character whatsoever, leaving Perlman all by himself. Tempo for this movement is always somewhat of a problem, and most people, including here, tend to present a somewhat glib reading, often because the MOLTO moderato is given short shrift. Lots more on which to comment, but the limitation of the post length precludes getting into an erudite discussion on interpretation.

4:05 I think this is the first time I've ever heard an out of tune note from Perlman! learning this sonata now and loving it.

He is so intelligent! If you look his fingers and his bow you can see it. The result is amazing! Everything is fantastic, I love this performance and I love Brahms! I'm really happy because I'm playing this sonata and I feel inspired when I listen Itzhak Perlman. Thank you for posting this performance :D

absulutly the top !

I have departed from Brahms for shorter or longer periods, but I have allways returned, like to a life long friend. When I listen to this music I understand why. And over the years the friendship is growing deeper. He touches something deep in the soul like no one else. It is very strange.

@ Caniche. I love this sonata. I love Brahms. Thank you for reminding me I'm stupid. Now I understand why.
