@Margobears The "patterns" for period clothing do NOT exist. What is seen and used are reproductions of how the clothing was put together. The making of patterns for clothing was created much later in years. I have a few good friends...and Jerry knows of one couple I'm talking about...who make such a reproduction. I also happen to have one of their pieces of garb that is so well made and fits so wonderfully.
Nice work, but saying that patterns for period clothing don't exist is simply untrue. Mantua Maker, Lynn McMasters, Reconstructing History, Alter Years, and my own Historic Costume Patterns all produce patterns for clothing for the SCA period.
My husband and I met through the SCA. I have been a member since 1990. I love this video. I think it is a wonderful little intro to show to people who know nothing about us. GREAT WORK!!!!
I met my wife through the SCA. We share common interests and respect for the old ways, and now with a child, we have a fantastic way spend time together on the weekends. You an take your activity and interest as far as you want to go. My main interest in the warrior arts, in heavylist combat.
Lovely video, however those were two of the worst rapier fighters I have ever seen. Even I could beat them and I haven't lifted a blade in 2 years now. By the way I joined the SCA in 1977 and fought heavy, light, archery, and rapier so I think I know of what I speak.
