Open Ps2Loader on the PS3 with Swapmagic

Open Ps2Loader on the PS3 with Swapmagic.
You need a ps2 compatible ps3 and the Original SwapMagic discs, ver 3.6 or 3.8.
You also need a compatible usb device.
Ps2loader is the continutation of usbloader which was then named open usbloader. since on the ps2 it can load games various ways, it was then named Open PS2Loader.

What format does the usb device need to be? FAT 32, NTFS etc.

Okay so I got Open PS2 Loader 0.8 and 0.5 on my virtual memory card using swap magic and ulaunchelf. Neither of them will load games from my external drive. 0.8 worked fine loading just about every game on the internal HDD on my PS2. I know my external drive is recognized by my PS3 b/c I was I able to load a couple games using USB Loader. I feel like I'm doing something wrong with Open PS2 Loader since it won't load anything. I click on a game and I just get a black screen.

Hi, I haven´t used this in awhile and I only used 0.8 once. OK, your external should be compatible with the usb drivers or you wouldn´t see the games. Remember OPL likes unpatched games. usbloader needed some games to be patched to run but OPL normally won´t run them if they´ve been patched.

They games also have to be defragmented. You can try defragmenting your whole drive but I had more success deframenting the individual game files.

When you say patched, do you mean ESR patched?

ESR patched, multiloader patched or any other patch that might have been used to get the game to work with usbloader(usb advance). Although I´m pretty positive I was able to load games that had the multiload patch on 0.5.

Oh ya, when I used OPL on my ps2 it also loaded just about everyhting off of the internal HDD. the usb hdd compatibilty is different. you should try loading those games on ps2 from usb. if it loads you´d know the problem is with the ps3

what is the difference in displaying ps2 games between ps2 and ps3? i mean can ps3 displays ps2backups 720p?
