TelexClassic data transmission networks, such as telex, are gradually replaced by other more modern communication types. This communication type was first introduced by "AT&T" (USA) in 1932, which began to provide "Teletypewriter Exchange Service" (TWX). Switching was performed manually and it was automated after World War II. Similar services in Europe called "telex" were introduced in early 1930s. In 1962 "Western Union" company started to provide the international telex service in the U.S. and in 1970 it purchased the TWX division from "AT&T". It was not possible to telex at the international level till then because of the differences in codes and transmission rates. "Western Union" company united these two systems through processing centers network, which implemented the necessary changes. The experiment Cybersyn was set in early 70s, in which Telex appliances and IBM 360 computers developed an information network that was later called the socialist internet. Users of the network could get information about the state of economic sectors in real time. The project was derailed in 1973 after the coup in Chile. Until the mid 90s the telex system was the most automated way of communication for enterprises and entrepreneurs just like email is today.
